Heat-Care Leave-In OEM: Compare the Tool, Temperature and Number of Passes
Write a heat-care test brief that controls the tool, temperature, number of passes and formula dose before approving an OEM claim.

Approve a heat-care claim only for the conditions supported by the final test. Agree on the styling tool, measured or documented temperature, number of passes and product dose before comparing samples or drafting the label.
Start with the actual salon service
The Journal covered a new Dyson styling tool on November 3. That is a tool-launch signal, not evidence that any leave-in works with it. Ask stylists which tools they actually use, whether the hair starts dry or damp and how many passes they make under normal conditions.
Build an interpretable test plan
Compare treated and untreated matched swatches, with a relevant benchmark if available. Keep hair history, section mass, drying state and styling method fixed. Record tool settings and how temperature is verified; include contact time and number of passes. Plan repeat runs and define exclusions before testing rather than choosing the best-looking result afterward.
Match the outcome to the wording
Shine, ease of combing and reduced breakage are different outcomes. A gloss photo does not establish protection against damage. Ask the test provider to specify the measured endpoint and comparator, and check whether the proposed language stays within that scope. The same caution applies when moving from a flat iron to a blow-dryer or heated brush.
Check the filled pump and approved dose
Review dose delivery in the intended package before approval. If the pump changes, compare output and instructions before assuming the original method remains representative. JunChun’s 200 ml pump route can anchor sampling; formula, evidence and packaging terms are project-specific.
Frequently asked questions
Can we put 230°C on the label by default?
No. The final evidence must support the specific condition and wording.
Does less frizz prove heat protection?
No. It is a different endpoint.
Does a stock pump remove the need for dose checks?
No. Check the actual filled pack.
