Hard-Water Shampoo OEM: Why a Local-Water Salon Trial Matters
Plan a hard-water shampoo salon trial around the buyer’s actual water, hair and routine. Compare the approved sample before committing to a retail order.

JunChun Beauty Editorial Team · 17 October 2026
Approve a hard-water shampoo using the water and routine your customers actually have. A successful wash in the supplier’s location does not establish the same cleansing feel, rinse experience or mineral-removal result in the buyer’s salon.
A familiar sample can create a misleading comparison
A distributor receives a shampoo that foams well at the factory, then hears that it feels different in the local salon. Before requesting a stronger formula, identify what changed: the water source, hair, application amount, conditioner or styling products. Several changes at once make the comparison difficult to interpret.
Start with the buyer’s current wash and the proposed shampoo on comparable hair under the same local conditions. Record which water source was used and whether a filter or treatment system was involved. A city name alone is not a water specification.
Give the factory a practical water-and-hair brief
Tell JunChun whether the customer uses municipal, well, stored or treated water, without guessing its mineral composition. If a water analysis is available, provide the actual report and date. If it is not, say so; a sample label such as hard water is not a substitute for measurements.
Describe the intended hair as well: natural, bleached or colored, with fine or coarse strands and the normal conditioner. The useful commercial question is whether the proposed product improves this routine enough to justify its place on the shelf.
Use a small comparison that can change the buying decision
Agree the washing method, sample identity and application amount before the salon begins. Keep the conditioner constant while comparing the two shampoos. Record lather handling, rinsing, wet feel and the dry finish. Then assess the chosen shampoo in the complete proposed routine.
If the buyer wants to compare two water sources, change that factor deliberately while keeping the other conditions comparable. Treat the result as a salon observation, not a quantified mineral-removal study. For a removal claim, ask the laboratory which mineral, method and finished formula the report covers.
Separate category references from your product evidence
Malibu C’s official hard-water shampoo page, checked 17 October 2026, describes a product aimed at mineral buildup and publishes its own directions and ingredients. It is a useful category reference. Its formula, daily-use instructions and results do not establish the performance of a JunChun sample.
A good-feeling wash can support a sensory purchase decision. It cannot, by itself, tell the buyer how much calcium, magnesium or another metal was removed. Keep the claim being requested separate from the observation used to select the sample.
Order the approved formula rather than a broad product name
JunChun’s existing hard-water shampoo route includes GLDA, salt-free viscosity and Batana or rosemary options for review. Confirm the chosen formula and complete INCI rather than assuming every option is present. The supplied 300 ml presentation is the packaging direction; component availability and final fill remain project specifications.
Use the quotation to identify the local trial sample, formula code, selected bottle and any change still outstanding. If the result is acceptable, this gives the distributor a clearer reorder reference. If it is not, the trial record gives the formulation team a specific problem to resolve.
Frequently asked questions
Does more foam prove better mineral removal?
No. Lather experience and mineral-removal performance answer different questions; a removal claim needs an appropriate finished-product method.
Must I know the exact water composition before asking for samples?
No. Describe the known source and treatment, and provide a report if available. Do not invent mineral values to complete the brief.
Can I use another brand’s daily-use directions?
No. Frequency and directions must follow the selected JunChun formula and its approved use assessment.
What should be recorded for a reorder?
The approved sample and formula code, final INCI, pack specification, directions and the exact scope of any supported claim.

Request a suitable sample and quotation
Send your target market, customer routine, preferred pack and quantity to JunChun or info@junchunbeauty.com. Ask for the closest suitable mature formula, the exact sample and pack to approve, and an itemized quotation. Selected mature formulas with eligible stock packaging may start at 100 pieces per SKU. Packaging changes are reviewed from 500 pieces; the actual component, decoration and formula route determine the confirmed minimum.
