Hair-Care OEM Quotes: How to Compare First-Order Costs Beyond Unit Price
Compare hair-care OEM quotations by formula, eligible stock packaging, samples, freight and saleable units before choosing a first-order quantity.

The cheapest quoted bottle is not necessarily the cheapest first order. Compare the same formula, fill volume, packaging, production scope and delivery terms, then divide the total landed project cost by the saleable units you expect to receive.
Start with equivalent specifications
Send each supplier the same brief: product type, market, target hair type, fill volume, order quantity, pack and labeling requirements. Ask whether the quote covers formulation, filling, closure, label application, outer cartons and artwork. Keep one-off setup fees separate from recurring unit costs.
Understand formula and packaging minimums
JunChun can offer selected mature formulas with qualified stock packaging from 100 units. Changing packaging starts at 500 units and depends on the actual process. These are project-dependent starting points: confirm whether the exact formula, bottle, closure and decoration qualify before budgeting. Do not assume a custom bottle or new formula is available at the stock-pack minimum.
Calculate the comparable first-order cost
Add production, samples, packaging setup, freight, insurance, applicable duties, taxes and local handling where relevant. Then divide by saleable units after accounting for samples, retained units and expected handling losses. For example, a hypothetical project costing 1,200 USD landed and yielding 90 saleable units costs 13.33 USD per saleable unit; actual quotes and losses will differ.
Review samples before paying for packaging
Compare at least two finished samples for the target hair type and conditions of use. Record dose, wet combing, dry finish and any residue after repeat use. Approve the formula and actual pack together, including dispensing, closure and transport checks. Ask how changes to fragrance or components affect testing, cost and timing.
Frequently asked questions
Is 100 pieces available for every product? No. The starting quantity applies to selected established formulas with qualified stock packaging and must be confirmed for the project.
Does a lower unit price always save money? No. A larger minimum, setup charges or freight can outweigh a lower quoted bottle price.
What should a buyer send for a quotation? Share product type, target market, fill size, desired quantity, preferred package, delivery destination and any evidence or labeling requirements.
