Body Oil or Oil Gel: Choose a Format by Spread and Dose Control
Compare free-flowing body oil and structured oil gel for dose control, spread and package recovery before approving an OEM format.

Choose free-flowing oil if fast spread is the main priority and the pack controls the dose. Consider a structured oil gel if placement and reduced run-off matter more. Compare final formulas rather than assuming that every gel feels drier.
A formulation signal from Bangkok
On November 3, Dow announced new personal-care ingredients including oil-phase structuring technologies at in-cosmetics Asia. This gives developers another category of tools to investigate. It does not establish demand for a specific body format or show that the proposed JunChun sample includes any of those ingredients.
Compare equivalent applications
Give the team a target area and a reference dose. Apply equal masses to comparable areas and record initial run-off, spreading effort and finish after an agreed interval. A thicker sample may remain where it is applied but take more effort to spread. Compare user preference at the intended application time rather than judging from an inverted jar alone.
Test the proposed pack
Weigh the output from several actuations and record whether the formula strings, drips or leaves product at the nozzle. Review how much remains at the end of normal use. A free-flowing oil may suit a controlled pump, while an oil gel might need a different outlet. Ask for compatibility and stability checks separately.
Quote two workable routes
Ask for the simplest stock-pack route and an alternative if gel output requires a different package. Selected mature formula and stock pack options can start at 100 pieces. New packs are reviewed from 500 based on process and may have higher supplier minimums. Keep the target use and quote basis comparable.
